THE FOLK QUEEN BLANKET IS HERE!!!!!

Hi Everyone,

Another sleep before … THE BIG DAY!

I am so excited about this post and  to be able to share my FOLK QUEEN BLANKET , and more so my lovely limited edition PACKS!

As you most likely already know the FOLK QUEEN BLANKET is the result of  a collaboration with my wonderful friend Tinna Þórudóttir Þorvaldar. And it has been an amazing opportunity to design my own colourway for her upcoming QUEEN CAL.

THE QUEEN CAL  ( crochet-a-long) will be available on Tinna’s Raverly from the 18th of September, BUT on her RAVERLY ACCOUNT there is already the introduction available so please do check it out!!

https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/queen-cal

The Queen CAL will be hosted in Tinna’s  Facebook Group, Tinna’s Crochet Club, where you will be able to get lots of support, inspiration and just general good fun! Please join us there!

https://www.facebook.com/groups/TinnaCrochetClub/

If you are new to Mosaic Crochet, then I recommend you check out Tinna’s YouTube channel where she has various tutorials available.   She will also publish step by step tutorials for the Queen CAL there, once the CAL starts!

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCCLETbuS9Y_v1o2BpSjj-oA?…

I am going to give you some more details about my version: and  I made a little video  about too that you can watch here:

So let’s list some facts…

I called my version THE  FOLK QUEEN  because the inspiration has been Northern traditional national costumes and landscapes a tribute to Tinna’s Nordic Heritage and mine too , as I come, originally , from a small village in Northen Italy .

You can get a pack ( kit)  to make The Folk Queen Blanket  EXCLUSIVELY FROM MY WEBSITE, no other retailer either brick and mortar or on-line  sells   this version .

What you get in the pack?

  • 17 BALLS OF YARN   : A mixture of Stylecraft LIFE DK  ( 100gr balls ) and Stylecraft BATIK DK  (50gr.balls) .Both yarn are a  blend of  75%premium acrilic and 25% wool.

  • A  personalised wooden tag with engraved ‘THE FOLK QUEEN’ that you can sew in your blanket once it is finished.

  • A print out with details and Tips about my version and a list row-by-row of the colours used in the same order as they are worked following the Charts provided in Tinna’s Pattern.

If you have read Tinna’s intro to the CAL you already know that there are several sizes and vesions to choose from:

For THE FOLK QUEEN I used the charts for:

TRADITIONAL STYLE QUEEN, the SMALL HORIZONTAL version.

My blanket measures ,once blocked,  105 cm x 135cm so a lovely throw size that you can see in full details in this video:

The PACK RETAILS  at  £62.99  here…  plus shipping costs which are listed too.

PLEASE DO READ THE CONDITIONS BEFORE YOU MAKE YOUR PURCHASE.

I can’t tell you how excited I am about been able to offer my version in a PACK! And if you purchase one of my packs I can’t thank you enough for your support!

There are 50 packs available on my shop on MONDAY 17th AUGUST at 10:00 am UK time.

Happy Crocheting

lots of love

Lucia x

I would so love to be part of Tinna’s CAL, but I’m not and never will be on facebook. My choice — one that precludes lot of fun, I know. I’ll check out the YouTube entry. Grazie Lucia – mi fa piacere la tua voce sentire — un misto di scozzese ed italiano. 🙂

I am a big fan of your folk colors. I just can not afford the price to purchase a kit. Is there any way you would share your colors with us?

I do appreciate that but ,unfortunately, the costs of transport are out of my hand, and that is not just for my pack but for any yarn’s delivery.
We have no plan to release the colorway only. We might consider in the future but not at the moment.
We said from the beginning that my pack was a limited edition. Also my colourway is just one of many, I would suggest you to join Tinna’s group on facebook @https://www.facebook.com/groups/TinnaCrochetClub/ as there are in offer a lot of fabulous colorways’alternatives to mine that are available pack-wise.
More so, Tinna’s pattern comes with full details and yarn’s stats for all the different options that her Testers have made so you can easly customise size and yarn choice.

I don’t suppose you can tell us the colors used in your blanket. I know the idea is to buy the pack but with international postage it makes it extremely expensive. I thought if i knew the colours i could look for something similar where i live.

This is my favourite colourway of this fabulous pattern. I’d love to buy a pack but I’m vegan and I can’t use the wool yarn. Would you be interested in selling a vegan friendly Stylecraft Special DK version?

Or if not would you willing to advise what colours to pick? I’ve ordered the CAL pattern in Ravelry.

Equally I appreciate you are probably very busy at the moment with lots of orders, so if you can’t help no worries.

    Thanks

Hi Lou, at the moment all we can offer is the current pack. It is just the logistics to introduce a different version that would be very difficult to handle. sorry for that.

Love this colorway! Would two packs of this be enough to make the larger size version??

    1. admin

      September 4, 2020 at 12:46 pm

      Hi Nikii,
not for the time being, It effects the cost of postage dramatically if it is over 2kg which would be the case feo the large version.

I want to make this blanket in the large version. Do I need to buy two kits?

    1. admin

      September 21, 2020 at 1:39 pm

      hi Karen,
I think you do not need two kits because some of the colours are used much less than others, but I haven’t made a larger one so it is difficult to figured out exactely. Said that I have a lady that has bought a pack and she is making a larger version, I asked her to keep the stats of the yarn. so by the time the CAL is finished I will have a better idea on what colours you need to buy an extra ball.

      September 29, 2020 at 11:27 am

I have another batch of packs that should be ready for the middle of November.
I am waiting for Stylecraft to have the shades that are missing back in stock. Once I get confirmation that they are available I will put the packs in my web-shop.
I will make an announcement in my social media pages, both FACEBOOK AND iNSTAGRAM so please keep an eye on those.
The pattern only with the list of the colours for the Folk Queen will not be available until next year. The reason being that it would be rather unfair for people that have bought the pack and paid often rather expensive postage if I did offer the pattern only at the same time.
We took that stand with Tinna at the beginning and I have to respect the plan.

Hence why next year for the pattern only.
      Best wishes,
      Lucia x
