Another sleep before … THE BIG DAY!

I am so excited about this post and  to be able to share my FOLK QUEEN BLANKET , and more so my lovely limited edition PACKS!

As you most likely already know the FOLK QUEEN BLANKET is the result of  a collaboration with my wonderful friend Tinna Þórudóttir Þorvaldar. And it has been an amazing opportunity to design my own colourway for her upcoming QUEEN CAL.

THE QUEEN CAL  ( crochet-a-long) will be available on Tinna’s Raverly from the 18th of September, BUT on her RAVERLY ACCOUNT there is already the introduction available so please do check it out!!

So let’s list some facts…

I called my version THE  FOLK QUEEN  because the inspiration has been Northern traditional national costumes and landscapes a tribute to Tinna’s Nordic Heritage and mine too , as I come, originally , from a small village in Northen Italy .

You can get a pack ( kit)  to make The Folk Queen Blanket  EXCLUSIVELY FROM MY WEBSITE, no other retailer either brick and mortar or on-line  sells   this version .

What you get in the pack?

  • 17 BALLS OF YARN   : A mixture of Stylecraft LIFE DK  ( 100gr balls ) and Stylecraft BATIK DK  (50gr.balls) .Both yarn are a  blend of  75%premium acrilic and 25% wool.

  • A  personalised wooden tag with engraved ‘THE FOLK QUEEN’ that you can sew in your blanket once it is finished.

  • A print out with details and Tips about my version and a list row-by-row of the colours used in the same order as they are worked following the Charts provided in Tinna’s Pattern.

If you have read Tinna’s intro to the CAL you already know that there are several sizes and vesions to choose from:

For THE FOLK QUEEN I used the charts for:

TRADITIONAL STYLE QUEEN, the SMALL HORIZONTAL version.

My blanket measures ,once blocked,  105 cm x 135cm so a lovely throw size that you can see in full details in this video:

      I am now posting worldwide now, here are the prices for postage for this packs from my local post office all parcels will be singed and tracked with Royal Mail with a tracking code that will be sent to you via email.

      UK- £6.57 per pack  (estimate: 1-2 working days delivery time)
      Europe – £18.03 per pack (estimate: 3-5 working days delivery time)
      USA- £31.21 per pack (estimate:  5-7 working days delivery time)
      Rest of the world- £23.20 (estimate: 5-7 working days delivery time)

      International Orders – Currency
      All prices on our website are in Pounds Sterling. When placing an order for delivery outside of the UK, you will be charged in Pounds Sterling, and your credit card company or bank will convert the amount into your local currency (e.g. Euros, Dollars, etc). For an idea of the cost in your local currency, try the XE Currency Converter. (Please be aware that the amount you are charged by your bank or credit card company will not exactly match the amount shown by the converter; use this tool as a guide only.)

      International Orders – Import Duties and Taxes

  4. I’m so excited for the kit to be available! I’ve purchased the pattern keep checking your store while I’m at work (in Australia, so a few hours ahead). Your choice of colours is so beautiful, I can’t wait!

    1. I do appreciate that but ,unfortunately, the costs of transport are out of my hand, and that is not just for my pack but for any yarn’s delivery.
      We have no plan to release the colorway only. We might consider in the future but not at the moment.
      We said from the beginning that my pack was a limited edition.   7. I am in Canada and the kits are sold out for the folk queen cal.
    Is there any way to buy just your information sheet that you’re sending out with the kits with the colours and how you’ve used them?

    I am sorry to say that I was not able to buy the kit for the Folk Queen blanket because of heavy delay on this site today. I came so far to the paying site, and was not able to checkout. When I finally get throug, it was sold out. Is there any possibility to buy your pattern?

    2. yes….I feel the same way…i would pay to obtain the information of yarn and colors used row by row…I would defiantly want my blanket bigger – so I would have to order more yarn anyways…please Lucia consider selling your wonderful colors you used….I think many of us would enjoy have this beauty in their lives…

  14. I don’t suppose you can tell us the colors used in your blanket. I know the idea is to buy the pack but with international postage it makes it extremely expensive. I thought if i knew the colours i could look for something similar where i live.

  15. This is my favourite colourway of this fabulous pattern. I’d love to buy a pack but I’m vegan and I can’t use the wool yarn. Would you be interested in selling a vegan friendly Stylecraft Special DK version?

    Or if not would you willing to advise what colours to pick? I’ve ordered the CAL pattern in Ravelry.

    Equally I appreciate you are probably very busy at the moment with lots of orders, so if you can’t help no worries.

    1. Hi Lou, at the moment all we can offer is the current pack. It is just the logistics to introduce a different version that would be very difficult to handle. sorry for that.
