Description

The Peachy Petals Blanket, a beautifully delicate crochet design that combines soft, subtle colours with luxurious textures to create a truly special blanket.

Designed and created by me, Lucia, this pattern has been a labour of love, taking over six months of designing, experimenting and sampling to achieve the perfect combination of beauty, quality and affordability.

My inspiration was to create a blanket using natural fibres, with a gorgeous blend of soft, muted tones, without needing lots of different yarn colours or making the project unnecessarily expensive.

By combining Mukat mercerised cotton with Mohair silk yarn, I was able to create a beautiful balance of texture and colour. The silky cotton works wonderfully alongside the delicate Mohair, creating subtle variations in colour and a lovely soft halo that gives the finished blanket its unique appearance.

As an added bonus, the pattern also includes a beautiful alternative version, Spring Petals, created by my talented pattern tester, Susan Cox. Made using 100% cotton, Susan's version includes a matching cushion and demonstrates just how versatile this design can be.

I hope this inspires you to experiment with your own colour combinations and create a Peachy Petals Blanket that is uniquely yours!

A special thank you to Susan Cox for sharing her beautiful project and to Maggie Bullock for creating the motif chart.
